Terrain and Vehicle VFX Sparks Discovery Channel’s Curiosity

Our presenter this month is our old friend Edmund Earle from Edgeworx Studios where they are finishing up the VFX for an episode of the Curiosity show on Discovery Channel. The topic of the episode in question is the geological formation of North America. Edmund will be presenting some tips and tricks on terrain creation and rendering, including things like realistic atmospherics and proper terrain subdivision. They have also been generating car animations, and have developed some sophisticated vehicle rigs that include realtime physics (no simulating required).
