For our July event with Thinkbox Software we will be getting a little change of scenery as we will not be at the Autodesk offices. Instead we will be at The Gallery @ Le Poisson Rouge in Greenwich Village. See Details below. Also we will be doing a huge raffle for supporting members of the group, so while anyone can attend this event for free, only current supporting members will be eligible for our 3 prize drawings detailed below.
Main Presentation:
An Evening with Thinkbox Software
Thinkbox Software‘s Mike Owen will discuss the recent features added to Deadline along with developments around the emerging Cloud technologies while their founder and CEO Chris Bond demonstrates SEQUOIA, the point cloud meshing solution currently under development.
Mike Owen:
Thinkbox Software developer Mike Owen has helped streamline workflow for more than a decade. Previously as Head of Systems at Burrows CGI Studio in United Kingdom he was a huge Deadline advocate, user, and expert. With remarkable support always on the minds of Thinkbox Software it was a natural fit to add Mike as a Board of Advisors where he helped make Deadline easier to setup, manage, and use throughout the world before even wearing a Thinkbox shirt on a daily basis. Working to help customers streamline their pipeline made officially adding Mike to the Thinkbox team easy where he is now on full-time staff working as a Deadline Developer & Product Specialist.
Chris Bond:
As founder and CEO of Thinkbox Software (@thinkboxsoft), Chris Bond brings technology and visualization to the world of high-performance computing. He formed Thinkbox in 2010 after re-acquiring technology that he started building at Frantic Films, a company he launched in 1997 that became one of the fastest growing technology corporations in Canada and North America. Beyond his entrepreneurial endeavors, Chris has VFX Supervisor credits on dozens of feature films and has collaborated on over 40 film projects in a variety of creative and technical roles across pre-visualization, production and post-production. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and also consults privately via his corporation The Secret Service.
