Piranha Builds A Trojan Lab

Piranha(NYC) recently completed production on a new broadcast ad for Trojan.  Working within the tongue-in-cheek and slightly campy creative world typical to Trojan comercials, the team at Piranha designed and built a futuristic testing lab environment for the Tojan “Charged” commercial which integrated live action actor plates shot on greenscreen.  In the commercial the actors enter a high-tech energy machine construct called the “orgasmatron”. Within the 4 week production schedule,  Piranha explored many creative avenues to define the look of the amorphous energy machine, including fluid simulations, ocean wave displacement, and traditional particle flow work, before arriving at a look that the client liked.  The final look integrated particle flow elements and old school 3d matte techniques combined in Autodesk Flame.

The lab environment was designed in 3ds Max 2012 by Piranha’s Gaspard Giroud and textured, lit and rendered using V-Ray.
