Eyeball Helps ServePro Cleanup
Eyeball has recently completed work on commercial spots for fire and water damage restoration specialists ServePro.
A scouting and research unit was dispatched to hurricane and flood affected locations in Kansas, where they captured images of damaged buildings and terrain, as well as reference footage showing the movement of downed power lines and ravaged trees. The photographs and were then used as 2D projections on stand-in geometry and as background elements comped behind green screen-shot talent.
Custom rigs were used—and in some cases custom-built—for vehicles, streetlights with power lines, all done in 3ds Max by Joe Gunn. Camera projections were used for before/after comparisons of damaged wall interiors. Live action footage was tracked with Nuke’s Camera Solver or Syntheyes to marry 3D and 2D projected backgrounds to the talent shot on green screen.

Heavy duty-grade fans and other industrial cleanup equipment used by ServePro teams was modeled, textured and animated in 3ds Max, then rendered and comped in.
