Autodesk Announces Plans To Purchase Delcam

For those 3ds Max artists among you who have an interest in fabricating physical objects from models you create in 3ds Max or other Autodesk products, you should be aware that Autodesk recently announced plans to purchase a company called Delcam (based in Britain).  Delcam offers both design software such as ArtCAM as well as a host of other CAM (Computer Assisted Manufacturing) solutions used to create toolpaths for everything from lathes to 2, 3 and 5 axis CNC machines.  While it will take some time after this acquisition becomes reality for us users to see the fruits of this deal, anyone using Autodesk products in their

fabrication/manufacturing pipeline will have some interesting options to look forward to.
